Credentialing Timeframe: What to Expect

The file decides the start date. We build it so your medical staff office can say yes quickly.

State licensure through the IMLC

For an eligible physician, a Compact license can issue in days. The North Carolina Medical Board reported an average of nine days for Compact applications in early 2026, against about 70 days on the traditional pathway.

Hospital privileges

Privileging follows your bylaws and your committee calendar. Most delay lives here, in a missing document or a missed meeting date.

Temporary privileges

Joint Commission standards allow temporary privileges for up to 120 days while a complete application awaits approval, and for an urgent patient care need as your bylaws define.

Preparation starts before Presentation

Our credentialing preparation runs in the background before we present a physician. Once you accept the presentation and your credentialing team gives us the go ahead, we start immediately. We work directly with state medical boards and follow up on peer reference requests.

One owner for the file

Your medical staff office works with one point of contact who owns the file. We follow up on open items proactively to speed up completion and take work off your credentialing team's plate. Reach us at credentialing@admiralhealthcare.com.

What speeds it up on your side

Share your application packet, your bylaws on temporary privileges, and your committee dates at intake. We plan the start date around them.

We cannot move your committee date

We can make sure the file never waits on us. Bring us your start date and we will work backward from it.
